We use experienced medics and paramedics, all originating from an emergency services background. Whether covering a one day commercial to a long-running feature film, our proven background enables us to seamlessly integrate within your production and have the ability and resources to upscale when required.
We are CQC registered (the regulator of health and social care in the UK) for the regulated activity of ‘treatment of disease, disorder and injury’ and ‘transportation, triage and medical advice’ so are legally compliant in these areas and are able to transport patients under blue lights.
Location / Studio Unit Medics
From a unit medic on a two day commercial to a construction medic supporting a month long set build, MSS has a proven team of experienced location medics ready to deploy on short or long commitments.
We have a history of running the medical centre at Elstree Studios for over 12 years through our dedicated project managers overseeing all requirements. This involved providing a duty medic at Elstree studios for every day of filming, scaling the support up to paramedics, ambulances and fire crew to support higher-risk scenes as well as out on location. Additionally, our team provided medical advice for props, wardrobe, makeup and actors during medical scenes.
Paramedic Ambulance Support
MSS’s registered Ambulances and Response cars are all equipped with the latest medical technology, advanced drugs and spinal immobilisation equipment. As an NHS contractor, these vehicles are kitted to the same standards as a frontline NHS 999 Ambulance.
We’ve supplied one of our specialist Paramedic Ambulances to all rounds of the British Touring Car Championships Medical team since 2015, proving our commitment to the high standards required for the UK’s premier motorsport championship.
Working at Height Medical & Rescue Teams
Our specialist Working at Height medical rescue teams have covered many high profile media stunts using their IRATA and emergency services rescue qualifications. Our team’s skills were put to the test whilst filming the ‘Jupiter Ascending’ movie for Warner Bros where we provided a Paramedic Aerial Rescue Crew suspended at over 100 feet whilst actress Mila Kunis filmed the SFX wire scenes at height. Having our team on standby was a huge reassurance to both crew and cast.
For higher risk action and stunt scenes we can support the activity by providing a full Paramedic aerial rescue crew with the abilities and equipment to safely rescue personnel from mid air or at height.
Event Medical Support
With our fleet of medical vehicles and event medical resources, our team have supported both large and small scale events globally. From a small equestrian show to a high profile sporting event on Trafalgar Square, we have a proven background and our combined fire & safety expertise can provide you with an efficient solution to your event safety requirements.
Using the service we provide to support crowds of over 30000 at Thruxton Race Circuit for example, we provide combined ‘Response Teams’ using a Medic trained Firefighters and Paramedics operating out of 4×4’s to stabilise a scene and report back to our Medical Coordinator, only mobilising an Ambulance to the scene if required. Then collating information into an operations log which assists with H&S related reactive monitoring and accident reporting.
